How to Contour Your Face

Contouring your face gives the illusion of a more perfect appearance. By contouring your face, you can hide structural imperfections, give your face balance and highlight features.

The most common areas to contour are cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Contouring these areas gives the appearance of a balanced face. You can also contour eyes and lips to make them look bigger or smaller, fuller or slimmer.

Here's how to do it:
1.  Using the Motives Cheek Contour Brush, pick up the darker shade on the angled side of the brush. Use a sweeping motion to shade underneath your cheekbone, making sure to blend evenly.
2.  Now, pick up the lighter shade on the angled side of the brush and shade above the cheekbone and above eyebrows using a sweeping motion.
3. Looking at the triangle pic above,  you will see the lighter shade inside of the triangle- darker shade outside, with a shadow of light shade under the eyes extend a little further out.

One of my most favorite products in the Motives line of cosmetics is the Motives Shape and Sculpt Duo.  It is a double-sided compact with light and dark shadows that you need to highlight and contour like a pro!  It is a two in one product that glides on softly and feels like velvet to your skin.

The Motives Shape and Sculpt is great because of these benefits:

  • Two-in-one highlighter and matte contour powder
  • Luxurious formula that glides on smoothly to highlight and sculpt
  • Designed for all skin types
  • Non-irritant formula
  • Paraben, oil and fragrance free
