How to Thicken Hair

Doesn't it always seem (or at least some of the time) we always want what we (think) we don't already have???? Many women work hard at trying in increase the volume of their hair whether it's with a hair cut (which is not a bad idea, so if you haven't consulted your hair stylist, maybe it's time:), and or products. Take a look in your bathroom and see how much hair products you have. If they don't work and just sitting there, first step is GET RID  of them! Secondly, you really may want to consider your hair style. There are soooo many styles now that with your hair type you may achieve the goal you're after without literally pulling your hair out from frustration. Talk with your hairdresser.

Okay here comes another thought...the aging process and coupled with stress!!! Again, don't pull your hair out on this one, just stay calm, relax and read on..there are answers.

Seriously, thinning hair is real and can be frustrating whether due to stress, age, health issues and or the environment. There's no magical cure for over night thick hair, but there are things that you can educate your self on and figure out what you need:

1. Stay away from substandard products that have chemicals and ingredients that may cause further damage. Only use natural ingredients.
2. For DIY steps I recommend Japho.com   For those that don't have the time or the inclination and are looking for products that are natural and help save time and energy I have done some research to see what ingredients is key to help strengthen the hair and improve the condition of the hair.
3. Look specfically for pure plant extracts and proteins. These strengthen and build hair follicles.  If there are additional subgrade ingredients, chemical base and or dyes these are not necessarily "Natural" so do your self a favor and put it back on the shelf, or click off the product (if you're on line. ). Also, if they advertise "natural" and only list one or 2 of the natural ingredients but not the rest, well that should tell you something...
Key plant extracts, proteins and  include
  • Nettle Extract -improves appearance and is a remedy against  oily hair
  • Collagen - Collagen is a very important protein for our whole body, including our hair. I when you apply collagen to the hair shaft, you are able to promote healthy hair growth. Collagen helps strengthen hair and increase the diameter of individual hairs, which helps give thinning hair an overall fuller hair appearance.
  •  Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein - is a moisturizing and conditioning protein derived from whole wheat. It increases the hair’s ability to retain moisture, and impart shine and gloss to damaged and dull hair. Due to its low molecular weight, it easily penetrates the hair shaft, allowing it to attract and retain moisture, build body and reduce porosity, all of which improves hair manageability, luster and smoothness.
  • Tea Tree Oil - this has been used for centuries and provides healing as well as moisturizing properties in helping the skin remain healthy and smooth.
 4. Eat nutritional whole foods and stay away as much as possible processed foods. This also includes drinking water throughout the day to provide hydration and natural moisturizing abilities for your skin and hair. Fruits, green vegetables, proteins, and healthy fats combined with consistent exercise program and nutritional supplements is a great start for your whole body while helping your hair.
