Examiner Reviews Motives for LaLa

Motives By La La - Basketball Wife Turned Beauty Mogul (Photos)
January 22, 2013 By:
I absolutely love La La Vasquez for lots of reasons. Not only is she married to former Syracuse University and current New York Knicks star, Carmelo Anthony.
She is the anti "basketball wife" and instead of starting cat fights on national TV she is a low key, real woman that is is steering clear of the tabloid and inspiring her millions of fans!
Now she's got her own makeup line Motives For La La and I was lucky enough to be able to test out her items as well as items from the regular Motives line.
I received:

And now for the results of my diligent testing -- drum roll please!
Wow! I can't say eough about this line! Everything is a perfect price point, packaging is on point, and then the products themselves preform phenomenally!
My Favorite:
Without a doubt, I fell in LOVE with the liquid powder mineral foundation. My skin is tough -- it can be blotchy, I have dark circles under my eyes, and I am so freakin' white that you see every vein in my face! ugh. oh and did I mention that I've been breaking out like crazy lately!
Well, this stuff is incredible. really! It goes on super smooth and covers up every issue I got going -- leaving behind even smooth skin. And the color is a perfect match for me skin and give complete coverage! Normally I feel like I MUST put on lotion > primer > foundation > cover up > brozer > blush --- just to get my face to look normal and clean. THAT'S A WHOLE LOT OF WORK! But with this stuff is my one quick fix that cuts down my morning prep time in half!
Alright, I feel like I am gushing a bit much -- but I could go on for days about that foundation!
Night Out:
There is a lot of great unique items to doll up for a night on the town. The lip gloss collection is incredible -- really rich and vibrant colors. I loved the one with heavy sparkles -- it really is a great look to add a fleck of sparkle to your pucker! For wearing something like this it's advised to do light eye makeup as to not over do the look!
They eye shadow really impressed me as well! The crystal blue color might not have been the best match for my skin, but the other two were a home run! The XXX color was my absolute perfect match. This metallic shade had a deep enough tone to add great definition to my blue eyes to really make that color pop! It was a nice neutral tone that I could wear with anything, any other makeup, and wear from day to night without fail.
Biggest Surprise:
The eyebrow pencil! duh. To be honest I neglect my eyebrows. I feel like half the time I don't even notice them until I am running into a business meeting and glance in the mirror only to notice I have all these rogue hairs popping out all around. I am a bit of a mess I do confess! But now I am giving my little face caterpillars a second thought! I always preach that the brows are the most defining feature of the face -- but who has time for that. Well thanks to this pencil I do! All you do it color in the brow with one end and shape the little hairs with the other end. And thankfully it takes very little effort to look completely natural! And oh what a difference it makes!
I really am so impressed with everything in the Motives and Motives For La La collection. I mean c'mon -- look at how many exclamation points I used in this article! This line is good for everybody -- celebrity basketball wives and us regular people too!
